Silk Road Gala Builds Bridges: WorldHub Platform Makes Debut at Kashgar Central Asia Expo

On August 17, 2025, the 15th, Kashgar(kashi) city of xinjiang china · Central and South Asia Commodity Fair (hereinafter referred to as “Kashgar Fair”) grandly opened at the Kashgar International Convention and Exhibition Center. As a crucial economic and trade event in the core area of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, this year’s Kashgar Fair, themed “Mutual Benefit, Mutual Assistance, and Win-Win Cooperation through Joint Discussion and Construction”, attracted more than 2,000 enterprises from 13 domestic provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, as well as 12 Central and South Asian countries including Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Over 50,000 purchasers and professional visitors gathered here, making it a friendly trade bridge connecting Kashgar with Central and South Asian countries. I was fortunate to attend the event with my son, experiencing the vitality of opening-up and expanding cooperation space at this international gala.

The exhibition venue was bustling with activity. Inside the 40,000-square-meter exhibition area, distinctive products from various counties and cities in Kashgar were displayed in great variety. In the local industry exhibition area, daily light industrial products such as plastic lunch boxes and environmentally friendly tableware from Shufu County featured novel designs and strong practicality. Adopting food-grade materials and degradable craftsmanship, these products met the green demand of the modern consumer market. In the textile and garment exhibition area from Shache County, ethnic-style clothing and knitwear fully demonstrated regional characteristics. Dresses made of Adelis silk and embroidered flower hats perfectly integrated traditional craftsmanship with modern fashion. In the handcraft exhibition area of Yingjisha County, wood carvings, embroideries, earthenwares and other works carried the cultural heritage of the Silk Road. The on-site carving demonstrations by craftsmen attracted numerous visitors to stop and watch. These exhibits fully demonstrated the vigorous development of Kashgar’s local industries and let the outside world see the achievements of Kashgar’s manufacturing transformation and upgrading.

What was even more gratifying was that the overseas exhibition area was equally splendid. Overseas exhibits such as Pakistani camel skin lamps and hand-woven carpets, Kyrgyz wool products and characteristic handcrafts, and Tajik gemstone jewelry made wonderful appearances. The exotic characteristics brought by 181 overseas enterprises complemented domestic products. The venue was filled with the sounds of negotiations and consultations. Chinese and foreign enterprise representatives conducted in-depth exchanges on product trade, technical cooperation, market expansion and other topics, creating a warm atmosphere for on-site signings.

My son served as the “exclusive photographer” throughout the event. Holding equipment, he shuttled through various exhibition areas, recording exhibit details, negotiation moments and the lively atmosphere of the fair with his lens. He not only filmed the entire process of platform promotion but also took the initiative to interview several foreign merchants, preserving rich and vivid materials for platform promotion. With the help of the communication platform built by the fair, I focused on promoting the WorldHub e-commerce platform to exhibitors from Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries. Through on-site demonstrations of the platform’s cross-border transaction process, multilingual services, intelligent matching and logistics support advantages, many overseas enterprises expressed strong interest. The person in charge of a Pakistani handcraft enterprise said that they hoped to use the WorldHub platform to sell their country’s camel skin lamps and hand-woven carpets to all parts of China. A Kyrgyz wool product enterprise paid close attention to the platform’s logistics solutions, looking forward to reducing transportation costs through the platform. On-site, more than 20 overseas enterprises left their contact information, expressing their intention to expand into the Chinese market with the help of the platform.

As a hub city connecting “five ports leading to eight countries and one road linking Europe and Asia”, Kashgar, through the window of the Kashgar Fair, has enabled local products to go global and built a bridge for overseas enterprises to enter the Chinese market. During this participation, I not only witnessed the friendly trade exchanges between Kashgar and Central and South Asian countries but also felt the vigorous vitality of regional economic and trade cooperation under the “Belt and Road Initiative”. At the same time, it has opened up new cooperation space for the WorldHub platform and accumulated a large number of potential customer resources.

In the future, we will take this fair as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with enterprises from various countries, optimize platform functions and improve service quality according to the needs of overseas enterprises. Through the WorldHub e-commerce platform, we will help Kashgar’s local enterprises “go global” and assist high-quality products from Central and South Asian countries “enter China”, injecting more digital momentum into Silk Road trade through e-commerce and contributing to promoting the coordinated development of regional economies.
