I. Childhood and Technological Enlightenment

My technological journey began with curiosity about the computer world during my childhood. While other children were playing with traditional toys, I was deeply attracted to that computer which emitted a mysterious aura. In those days the computer was still a novelty for most people, but for me it was like a treasure waiting to be explored.

I still remember the first time I turned on the computer. The blinking indicator lights and the black-and-white screen were like opening a door to an unknown world. Initially I was only interested in simple games and drawing programs, but soon this interest extended to deeper aspects of the computer. I started to wonder how the computer ran these programs, and how those codes and instructions made the computer react so wonderfully.

My parents noticed my obsession and encouraged me to study further. With the support of my family I had more opportunities to access computer-related books and materials. The books on basic computer knowledge borrowed from the library became my most precious treasures during my childhood. I devoured the content about the hardware composition and software principles of the computer. Although some of the knowledge was obscure to me at that time, I never gave up my enthusiasm for exploration.

II. In-depth Study of Computer Software and Hardware

As I grew older my thirst for knowledge became stronger, and I began to systematically study computer software and hardware. In terms of software, I started with the most basic programming languages. When learning BASIC, I would spend a whole day in the small code-editing interface, repeatedly debugging the program just to see the expected running results. The sense of achievement every time the code ran successfully became the driving force for me to move forward.

The study of operating systems fascinated me even more. The Windows operating system is like a vast and complex kingdom. I delved into it, exploring its file system, registry and various system settings. I would try to repair malfunctioning Windows systems, gradually accumulating rich troubleshooting experience by analysing blue-screen codes and finding the causes of failures. At the same time I did not overlook Linux, this open-source treasure. Starting with distributions such as Ubuntu and CentOS, I immersed myself in the Linux command-line world. I learned to use various commands to manage files, install software and configure servers. The feeling of controlling the entire system through the command line made me deeply appreciate the charm of Linux.

In hardware learning I was like an obsessed explorer. I would disassemble old computers and carefully study each hardware component: from the pins of the CPU to the dense circuits on the motherboard, from the gold-plated fingers of the memory module to the internal structure of the hard disk, I explored them one by one. I understood the performance parameters of different CPUs, knew how to select the appropriate motherboard according to requirements, understood the impact of memory frequency and capacity on system performance, and was clear about the characteristics of different types of hard disks in terms of read-write speed and data storage. Moreover, I was keen on studying the heat dissipation problem of hardware, creating the best heat dissipation environment for computer hardware by experimenting with different combinations of cooling fans and heat sinks.

III. Delving into Network Technology

Network technology is another important part of my field. I started with basic network knowledge, understanding concepts such as network topology and IP address allocation. As my study deepened I began to research network protocols, especially the TCP/IP protocol suite. I deeply understood the functions and working principles of each layer of the protocol, as if unlocking the mysterious code of network communication.

In enterprise network architecture design I plan the network layout according to the scale and requirements of different enterprises. For small-sized enterprises I design a simple and efficient network architecture to meet daily office and basic business needs. For large-sized enterprises I consider network scalability, high availability and security, and reasonably plan VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks) to isolate the network traffic of different departments, improving network security and management efficiency.

Configuring routers, switches and firewalls is a key aspect of network technology. I am proficient in the configuration methods of various brands and models of routers and switches. By setting access control lists (ACLs), port security and other functions I enhance network security. For firewalls I can accurately allow or deny network traffic according to the enterprise's security policy to prevent attacks and intrusions from external networks. At the same time I have deeply studied Virtual Private Network technology to provide enterprises with secure remote office solutions. By setting up a VPN server, employees can securely access the company's internal network resources anywhere with a network connection.

The maintenance of network equipment is also an important part of my work. I regularly check and maintain routers, switches and wireless access points, review running status and log files, and detect potential problems in time. When a network failure occurs I can quickly locate the fault point. Whether it is a damaged network cable, equipment failure or configuration error, I can quickly solve the problem through rich experience and professional tools to ensure the normal operation of the network.

IV. Mastery of Operating Systems

(1) Windows

In the field of the Windows operating system I have reached a very high level. I can not only skilfully install and configure various versions of Windows but also optimise it for different hardware platforms. For complex system problems I have a unique set of diagnostic and solution methods.

In the Windows Server environment I can easily handle the configuration of various server roles, such as domain controllers, file servers and print servers. I know how to set user permissions and group policies to ensure data security and access control in the enterprise network. I can monitor server performance indicators such as CPU usage, memory usage and disk I/O through performance monitoring tools and conduct performance optimisation based on these data. For example, when I find that the memory usage of a server is too high, I analyse which process occupies a large amount of memory and then solve the problem by adjusting memory allocation or optimising related services.

I have also deeply studied the update mechanism and security patch management of Windows. I know how to deploy security updates for Windows systems in the enterprise network in a timely manner without affecting the normal operation of the business, preventing the system from being threatened by the latest security risks. At the same time I can handle various problems that occur during the update process, such as update failures and blue-screen errors, and make the system recover by manually repairing the registry and replacing damaged system files.

(2) Linux

Linux occupies an important position in my world. I have an in-depth understanding of different distributions, from Red Hat and Debian to Arch Linux, and I can skilfully use command-line tools to complete various system management tasks.

In file system management I am familiar with common Linux file systems such as ext4 and XFS. I can create, mount and unmount file systems through command-line tools, and can also solve file system failures such as corruption and insufficient disk space. In user and permission management I know how to create and manage user accounts and groups, and set permissions of files and directories to ensure system security and data confidentiality.

Writing shell scripts is an important skill of mine in Linux. I can write shell scripts to automate tasks such as system backup, software installation and log analysis. These scripts not only improve work efficiency but also reduce errors caused by manual operations. For example, I wrote a shell script for the daily scheduled backup of important data: it automatically compresses the data in the specified directory and stores it on a remote server to ensure the security and recoverability of the data.

In Linux server deployment I can quickly set up various types of servers, such as web servers (Apache, Nginx), mail servers (Postfix, Dovecot) and database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL). I know how to optimise server performance by adjusting parameters and installing cache mechanisms to improve response speed and processing capacity.

(3) macOS

macOS attracts me with its unique design and user experience. I have deeply studied its core technology and functions. In file management I have mastered the macOS file system structure and the use of Finder. I know how to use tags to quickly classify and find files, and through Quick Look I can quickly preview various types of files without opening the corresponding application.

In application management on macOS I understand the operation mechanism of the Mac App Store and can help users easily install, update and uninstall applications. At the same time I can handle compatibility problems that may occur when installing applications from other channels, ensuring stable operation of the applications. In system customisation I can personalise macOS according to user requirements — for example adjusting the desktop background, the size and position of the Dock, and the display mode of system notifications, so users have a more comfortable experience on Mac computers.

In the security field of macOS I am familiar with the function and role of Gatekeeper, which effectively prevents the installation of malicious software by verifying the identity and integrity of the application developer. I also guide users to reasonably set accounts and passwords and enable encryption functions such as FileVault to protect disk data. In addition I can help Mac users solve network connection problems, whether Wi-Fi or wired, ensuring that Mac devices communicate normally in enterprise or home networks.

V. Mastery of Server Operation Technology

Server operation technology is an important manifestation of my technical ability. I am committed to optimising server performance to ensure efficient and stable operation. Through the rational configuration and adjustment of server hardware resources — CPU core allocation, memory optimisation and disk I/O scheduling — I can improve the processing capacity of the server. I use performance monitoring tools to monitor the running status of the server in real time and analyse the performance bottleneck. For example, when a server responds slowly under high load I check whether it is CPU resource exhaustion or a disk I/O problem, and then conduct targeted optimisation.

Server clustering and load balancing are important technical fields in server management. I can build a server cluster by combining multiple servers into a cluster system to achieve resource sharing and load balancing. I am familiar with common load-balancing algorithms such as round-robin, weighted round-robin and least-connection, and choose an appropriate strategy according to different business requirements to evenly distribute network traffic to each server, avoiding performance problems caused by excessive load on a single server. At the same time I configure the high availability of the cluster: with a redundancy mechanism, when a server fails other servers automatically take over its work, ensuring business continuity.

Virtualisation plays an important role in server operation. I have mastered virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V and KVM. Through virtualisation I can create multiple virtual servers on one physical server, improving the utilisation rate of server resources. I can create and manage virtual machines and allocate hardware resources such as CPU, memory and disk to them. In a virtualised environment I can also perform virtual machine migration, backup and recovery to ensure the security and availability of virtual machines. For example, when a physical server needs maintenance I can migrate the virtual machines running on it to other physical servers without affecting the normal operation of the business.

VI. Graphic Design

Beyond technology I also show a distinct talent for graphic design. I have a deep understanding of different design styles — minimal modern, retro, or fashion-forward — and apply them flexibly according to the requirements of each project.

In terms of tools I am proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. In Photoshop I edit, composite and add effects to images: I optimise image quality by adjusting colour balance, contrast and brightness, and create striking visuals through cut-outs and compositing. In Illustrator I draw vector graphics — icons, illustrations and brand marks — using its powerful drawing tools and rich symbol libraries. In InDesign I handle layout design: whether books, magazines or brochures, I combine text, images and graphics so the layout is both beautiful and readable.

In brand design I have created distinctive identities for many enterprises. I start by understanding the corporate culture, values and business characteristics, then convey the company's personality through a careful combination of design elements — from the shape and colour of the logo to the choice of typeface, every detail is considered so the identity is highly recognisable and memorable. In advertising design I create attractive visuals for the target audience and the purpose of the campaign, using colour psychology and composition principles so the advertisement catches the consumer's attention instantly and sparks interest and purchase intent. In packaging design I balance product characteristics, protection requirements and shelf presentation to design practical, beautiful packaging that improves the product's competitiveness in-store.

VII. Entrepreneurial Journey: The Birth of a Computer Repair Shop

In 2007, with years of accumulated technical knowledge and a passion for the computer industry, I resolutely decided to start a business and opened my own computer software and hardware repair shop. The early stage brought many difficulties and challenges. Tight funds were the primary problem — I put almost all my savings into preparing the store and still had very little money left. To save costs I personally searched for a suitable location, and after comparing many places I chose one with relatively low rent but fairly convenient transport.

I also took care of the store decoration myself. From the layout design to the purchase of materials, every step was filled with my effort. I wanted to create a professional and comfortable repair environment so that customers could trustingly hand over their computers to me. For equipment I purchased the necessary repair tools and testing devices according to my business needs — screwdrivers, multimeters, data recovery tools — and equipped some computers for demonstration and testing.

As for staff, limited funds meant that in the beginning there was only me. I was the owner, the technician and the customer service at once. From morning till night I was busy in the store, receiving the malfunctioning computers customers brought in, patiently listening to their descriptions of the problem, and then starting to diagnose and repair. Every time I successfully repaired a computer and saw the satisfied smile of the customer I felt extremely gratified — and that became the motivation for me to persevere.

As the store gradually got on track I began to focus on building a good reputation. I deeply knew that a good reputation is the key to the survival and development of a business. Therefore I always insisted on solving problems for customers with high-quality service and excellent technology. I took every computer seriously: not only did I repair the fault, I also carried out a comprehensive inspection and optimisation so that customers had a better experience when they got their computers back. At the same time I paid close attention to customer feedback and continuously improved my services according to their suggestions.

VIII. Growth and Expansion of the Shop

With my efforts the business gradually improved. More and more customers began to recognise my technology and service. They not only came to me when they had computer problems themselves but also recommended me to their friends and colleagues. As the volume of business increased I realised that I needed to expand the scale and scope of the store.

I started to recruit skilled repair technicians and provided them with systematic training so they became familiar with my repair process and service standards. At the same time I added new service items such as data recovery and network equipment repair. To increase the visibility of the store I produced attractive posters and flyers and distributed them in surrounding communities, schools and office buildings. I also used internet platforms to set up the store's official website and social media accounts, attracting more potential customers by posting computer repair knowledge and case studies.

In managing the shop I established a complete customer management system and a repair record archive. Through the customer management system I can better track customer information and repair history and provide after-sales service and follow-up visits in time. The archive records the repair of each computer in detail — fault symptoms, repair process and replaced parts — which not only improves repair efficiency but also provides data support for later technical analysis and improvement.

As the store kept developing I also established long-term cooperative relationships with enterprises, providing computer equipment maintenance and upkeep services including regular inspections, fault repairs and system upgrades. These corporate customers brought stable business income and enhanced the brand image of the store.

IX. Innovation and Service Upgrades

While the shop developed I always paid attention to the latest technological trends in the industry and continuously carried out innovation and service upgrades. In software repair I introduced advanced diagnostic and repair tools that solve operating system failures, software conflicts and similar problems faster and more accurately. For complex virus and malware infections I studied the latest antivirus and protection technologies to give customers safer solutions.

In hardware repair I kept updating equipment and technique. I invested in high-end soldering equipment and chip-level repair tools that allow more precise repair of motherboards, graphics cards and other hardware. I also built relationships with hardware suppliers to obtain the latest components in time, which improved repair efficiency.

To meet customers' data security needs I strengthened data backup and recovery services. Besides traditional hard disk recovery I learned and mastered recovery techniques for solid-state drives and RAID arrays. I can offer customers multiple backup options — local, off-site and cloud backup — so their data is properly protected under any circumstances.

On the service side I launched on-site repair and remote assistance. For customers who find it inconvenient to bring their computers to the store I can arrange for a technician to visit them, providing a convenient service. Remote assistance uses network technology: with the customer's consent I connect remotely to their computer and help solve simpler problems, saving them time and effort.

X. Facing Competition and Challenges

As the computer repair industry developed, market competition became increasingly fierce and new repair shops kept appearing. Looking back on my years of technical study and entrepreneurship I feel deeply proud. But I also understand that the development of technology is endless, and my journey continues.

Looking ahead I plan to further expand the business scope of the shop. On one hand, with the spread of Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as smart home and smart wearable products, I intend to add repair services for these new device types. I have already started to learn the relevant technology, understand the hardware architectures and software systems of these devices, and prepare to train professional repair staff. This meets market demand and opens a new source of profit for the shop.

On the other hand, with the rapid development of cloud computing more and more enterprises and individuals rely on cloud services. I plan to offer cloud-related consulting and technical support in the store: helping enterprises migrate to the cloud, set up and manage cloud servers, and solve problems that occur with cloud storage and computing. At the same time I will provide individual users with cloud storage security consulting and solutions to cloud device synchronisation problems.

Technology-wise I will keep following the application of artificial intelligence in computing. AI has started to change the way computer faults are diagnosed, and I hope to bring it into our repair process: by building fault diagnosis models and using machine learning algorithms to analyse large amounts of fault case data, faster and more accurate diagnosis becomes possible. This improves repair efficiency and customer satisfaction alike.

Meanwhile I recognise the importance of environmental protection in the technology industry. In future operations I plan to strengthen the recycling and treatment of e-waste. Many old computers and electronic devices contain hazardous substances, and improper treatment causes serious pollution. I hope to build a complete e-waste recycling process — dismantling and reusing recyclable parts and safely disposing of hazardous materials — and so contribute to environmental protection.

To better cultivate computer technology talent I also plan to cooperate with local schools and training institutions. I can serve as a guest lecturer, sharing practical experience and technical knowledge to help students and trainees better understand computer hardware, software, networks and repair technology. At the same time I hope to set up an internship base in the shop, giving promising students practical opportunities to exercise their skills in a real working environment and cultivating more professionals for the industry.

On marketing I will increase investment in online promotion. Besides the existing official website and social platforms I plan to use short-video platforms to produce interesting, practical content about computer technology and repair knowledge. Through vivid video I will attract more potential customers and increase the visibility and influence of the store. I will also run combined online-offline campaigns — online lotteries for repair vouchers, offline computer technology lectures and free repair days — to deepen interaction and loyalty with customers.

Facing possible future challenges — intensified competition and faster technology cycles — I am full of confidence. I have a solid technical foundation, rich entrepreneurial experience and unbounded enthusiasm for the computer industry. I believe that as long as I keep a spirit of learning and innovation, the shop will continue to grow in a constantly changing market, provide high-quality technical services to more customers, and make a greater contribution to the development and popularisation of computer technology.
